The following trouble codes are specific to Porsche.
Porsche Trouble Codes Access
Porsche 1988-1990 Trouble Codes
Requires the use of DTC tester tool No. 9268 or system tester tool No. 9288, or equivalents to read trouble codes.
Porsche 1991-1995 Trouble Codes
Diagnostic trouble codes may be read using DTC tester tool No. 9268 or system tester tool No. 9288, or equivalents, or through flashing of the "Check Engine" lamp. To display the stored diagnostic trouble codes through the "Check Engine" lamp, proceed as follows:
- With engine off, turn ignition switch to On position.
- Depress accelerator pedal completely for 3-5 seconds.
- Wait for "Check Engine" lamp to flash, then release accelerator pedal. ECU will begin to flash diagnostic trouble codes.
- Fully depress accelerator pedal to display next diagnostic trouble code. When trouble DTC 1000 is displayed, no additional DTCs are stored in memory.
Porsche 1996-Up Trouble Codes
Requires System Tester 9288 or generic scan tool to retrieve trouble codes.
Porsche Trouble Codes Clearance
After malfunctions have been repaired, clear diagnostic trouble codes as follows:
- With engine off, turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Fully depress accelerator pedal for more than 11 seconds.
